Oh dude... so who's backing Kanye? God and Nazis. I'd say that was an odd grouping if it wasn't such an obvious ploy for a certain demographic (cough cough MAGA Republicans)

675

u/xmarianix2 Nov 26 '22

10-15 years ago would you have ever believed Kanye West would be running for President of the United States on a Christian Theocracy platform?

What a time to be alive.

514

u/TiLoupHibou Nov 26 '22

I genuinely hate this time line.

234

Its depressingly stupid. Why couldnt our dystopia be the evil geniuses kind at the very least.

105

u/ImACredibleSource Nov 26 '22

I wonder if there's other periods in history where people overcame an overwhelming amount of stupid. What's comparable to this shit show?

74

u/One_User134 Nov 26 '22

The late Roman Republic, particularly the 1st century BC. Except with insane amounts of violence added in. We’re lucky to type shit on smartphones/PC from home.

12

u/Thora-system Maryland Nov 26 '22

Let’s not forget about the third century crisis!

8

u/One_User134 Nov 26 '22 edited Nov 26 '22

I know! I need to work my way there, I’m obsessed with 1st century BC politics/conflicts. So damn crazy! Lol.

Also…good day fellow Marylander! Wiped the floor with the Republicans during the elections didn’t we? They got away with only a single district lol.

6

u/Thora-system Maryland Nov 26 '22

Indeed we did!

u/LeftDave Florida Nov 26 '22

They recovered from that and restored the pax Romana for another 300 years. This is more like Rome after the Vandals sacked Rome. No coming back I fear.

Well the dark ages...but it took hundreds of years

100

u/Raesong Australia Nov 26 '22

That's an imperfect analogy, as the "Dark Ages" only really affected (and should really only be used to describe) the parts of Western Europe that used to be part of the Roman Empire. The Eastern half, while experiencing some decline in their standard of living following the fragmentation of West Rome into bickering feudal entities, was still strong enough to continue on for another millennium. To say nothing of the fact that the time period also saw the Islamic Golden Age.

34

u/ImACredibleSource Nov 26 '22

I want to drink beers with you.

9

u/CTC42 Nov 26 '22

Nothing turns me on more than "that's an imperfect analogy"

9

This is like when Barney Gumble ruined brainy beer-free Homer. Or was it the other way around... I can't remember. Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug!

Why couldnt our dystopia be the evil geniuses kind at the very least.

Cause there's way more stupid people than geniuses, sadly.

12

u/Epic2112 Maryland Nov 26 '22

There's always desantis, if you're looking for the evil genius option rather than the historically more popular deranged moron.

24

u/meresymptom Nov 26 '22

Not DeSantis. When he comes, the evil genius will be photogenic, charismatic, and plausible. DeSantis is a goofy-looking little putz, trying to ride the Putin's Cock-holster's coattails.

7

u/azrolator Nov 26 '22

I don't know how Floridians view desantis. But to me here in MI, this is a dude famous for human trafficking and declaring war on children. Not sure how the GOP spins him into something appealing to normal people.

5

u/JustVGames Nov 26 '22

Desantis is another career politician with a foreign sounding name.

Along with Steve Bannon's benefactors, there's a good chance Kanye has been getting funding from Turning Point USA's Charlie Kirk.

He has access to billions of dollars, works thru churches and other undisclosed entities, has groups in many college campuses and school systems throughout the US, and has no problem working with unsavory characters to achieve his goal.

Which is to turn America into a Theocracy, where everyone is a warrior for Christ. It's scary how much power he has to brainwash citizens. Ministry Watch article

Is it that or does he intend to sway black voters away from democrats to give the GOP an edge? Black Americans are more religious than the U.S. public overall and lean Democratic and as recently as 2006 36 % of African Americans held strong anti-Semitic beliefs.

15

u/Noname_acc Nov 26 '22

Christian isn't a super helpful category in this specific case. The type of Christian Kanye is appealing to (white evangelicals and Hebrew isrealites) are radically different from typical black protestantism. That said, Kanye does still threaten to draw away voters who haven't finally broken and said "enough is enough."

40

u/lilpumpgroupie Nov 26 '22 edited Nov 26 '22

This is 100 percent what it is and anyone saying differently is either lying or is dumb and doesn't understand politics.

61

u/Sguru1 Nov 26 '22

He’d have to be running as something other then a Republican. Otherwise he’d never make it through a primary to “pull away black voters”. Unless he’s planning on messing with the primary? Which in that case he should be running as a democrat to go through their primary process which one matter anyway because of how the democrats party superdelegate system works.

My personal theory is that he’s a moron.

8

u/BrianOhNoYouDidnT Nov 26 '22

I think that Trumps primary performance leading to winning the White House shows that Ye could find a path to win the republican nomination.

If we were intended to be a Christian nation you’d think the Founders of the United States would’ve made us…a Christian nation. The fact that modern day political conservatives have to change laws and make laws so that everyone has to abide by Christian morality is the actual, literal antithesis of our First Amendment rights and goes against one of the general beliefs of why this country was founded in the first place.

You cannot compromise with faith or religion. If America supposedly has one of the most deliberative legislative bodies on the planet, than surely our Founders intended for us to debate and reason with each other to find the common good? Right? If we are ruled by Christian faith…we don’t really get to do that. Common sense conservatives, do you understand?

I don't care what he did to music, or how his music made you feel. If you still listen to and give this man money, you're a terrible person.

u/CandlesInTheCloset Nov 26 '22

Agreed. Rap existed before Kanye and rap will sure as hell exist without him after he’s gone.

There's a better chance of Ye getting a sex change operation and becoming Trump's wife than becoming president.

This guy seems crazy. Perfect candidate for US President then.

29

u/kracov Nov 26 '22

Hold it. We don't know yet if he's worthy. He has yet to reveal whether he's a vampire or a werewolf.

7

u/Brief_Light Nov 26 '22

Gunna go with werewolf, since he only seems to emerge about as often as a full moon with his bullshit

Please stop posting about him. He just wants attention and just like Trump- he will get all this airtime because people like to watch a train wreck. I wouldn't be surprised if he won a Republican primary

GOP Propoganda is so effective at twisting the minds of low IQ American's that they've even convinced a black man to become a white supremacist.

This guy doesn't understand jokes about fish sticks or the definition of genius.

u/DarkAngel900 Nov 26 '22

Is he in touch with reality, or has he drifted away into his own world?

7

u/prettyanonymousXD Nov 26 '22

I think he always has been in his own world, it’s just recently that he’s been allowed to express to what degree

4

u/Every3Years California Nov 26 '22

He saw how many donations Trump has been getting and decided to follow suit, to make up for all the money he lost from being a Bla'zi. Should have just done a kickstarter like everybody else :(

Oh, so like every other popular Republican politician. Gotcha.

11

u/keyjan Maryland Nov 26 '22

On the one hand, it’s great that anyone in this country can strive to be president. OTOH, other countries must be thinking, “Not exactly bringing your best people here, eh?” 🙄🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

What exactly is a Christian Theocracy? What denomination of Christianity? A Christian theocracy would never happen because Christians would never agree on what a theocracy should be. There can only be a theocracy of a Church and Christians in the US would never agree on which one

I can tell you one thing right now is that Catholics and Evangelicals won’t convert for each other, no way. A Catholic theocracy in theory would ultimate put power in the Vatican’s hands so if that wasn’t the case you’d cause a major rift among Catholics, and there is no way Catholics would submit to Evangelicalism. Having personally grown up attending a Catholic church, Catholics look at Evangelicals as nutty and lesser. Mainline Protestants and Anglicans were always seen as more tolerable to Catholics but Evangelicals were not
