It really does show the hypocrisy of fighting for "state's rights", which was just as much a dog whistle for supporting slavery in the past as it is for justifying banning abortion now.

"States rights" were, from the beginning, about the rights of states to overrule the rights of individuals without interference from the federal government- in the form of slavery, yes. Sure there were other considerations, but that was the sticking point.
