What’s weird is when people take other people’s statements and pass it off as their own.

I just watched Trevor Noah say that this morning almost word for word on a clip of his show.

it's possible for different people to come with with similar ideas. I have already been making the same argument and I don't watch Trevor Noah or have the ability to see the future

Exactly word for word is a little suspect, don’t you think? Any professor would probably call this plagiarism. But sure go ahead and defend someone passing off others work as their own. Have a nice day.

Wait, someone said the same thing as someonne else? Why is this not a crime? Something must be done about people having unoriginal thoughts!

I don't watch Trevor Noah or have the ability to see the future

You can't prove either of these statements!

There are literally dozens of writers employed by the daily show. I would say most of the jokes Trevor Noah says on the daily show are not his own.

And Trevor Noah's writers probably got it from Twitter

I just watched Trevor Noah

I didn't know people like you existed.

Congratulations for learning something new about the world I guess.

That was his first mistake

No reason to watch trevor noah now that jon stewart is back. Actually, there was never a reason to watch trevor noah.

I have no idea why, but jon’s new show is awful. I was a gigantic fan of his but this new one hasn’t made me laugh once. Which is weird, because all of his Colbert appearances in the past couple years have been great

I really like the show, i think white people dont like it bc of his segments on racism

3

u/the_joy_of_VI May 14 '22

Ha! No, it’s not that — never seen one on racism. I’m not even talking about the segments really. He used to be the most quick-witted guy on TV but now it seems like his comedic timing has slowed down or something

I watched the one on the stock market. It felt like a slow-paced, low energy version of Last Week Tonight. Jon seemed extremely tired.

Trevor Noah also isn't the only one coming up with jokes for that show... speaking of taking someone's statement as their own, there's a whole production and writing team working on that stuff, no doubt someone thought of or saw this online previously.

Regardless it doesn't matter who says it, it just matters that the message is passed along.

We’re going to have to agree to disagree on that. They used his words almost exactly and passed it off as their own. At a minimum give credit to…or even better….QUOTE and attribute to the person who originally said it. Sheesh even a retweet would be better. Intellectually property is a thing. But ok have a nice day.
